Casey Anthony Murder Trial Resembles ‘Natural Born Killers’ Friday… or even Target on Black Friday
On May 31, 2011, TV news crews caught on tape a group of people running to the entrance of the courthouse to get a seat at the Casey Anthony murder trial in Florida. The 25-year-old is being tried for the murder of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee. The crowd appears to be very happy and anticipating the opportunity to watch a murder trial. Part of me understands that it would be interesting to watch a trial like this, but the running and pushing people out of the way part is a bit much. It might as well be a Justin Bieber concert… or Target on Black Friday (you’ll see what I mean below).
As a fan of movies, I was instantly reminded of a scene from Oliver Stone‘s film “Natural Born Killers” from 1994. It’s always fun to watch life imitate art. In the film, it shows hundreds of fans outside the courthouse surrounding Mickey and Mallory (Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis) and the media. People are getting pushed around, there are screaming fans, it’s the courthouse, etc… Not the first time to happen, certainly not the last.
Here’s the breakdown of the all the videos so you too can compare the footage! How fun.

Target on Black Friday… or is it the Casey Anthony murder trial?
The Casey Murder trial crowd looks happier than the group of Target customers.
